Caring for your anthuriums

Anthuriums are the longest-lasting cut flower we sell, by a wide margin.

Recut the stems at an angle and use room-temperature water. Change it every four or five days.

They are tropical and cold hurts them. Keep them well away from an open window in winter, from air conditioning in summer, and from any draft. Below about sixty degrees the glossy surface starts to darken and pit.

They like humidity. Mist the leaf and stem every few days, particularly in a heated apartment.

Wipe the surface gently with a soft damp cloth if it dulls with dust; the shine comes straight back.

Anthuriums are toxic if chewed, so keep them out of reach of pets and children.
